One of the most common types of complaints that I hear from my clients involves consumer fraud complaints.  Examples of this include private home owners who have been defrauded by landscapers, auto mechanics, construction contractors, snow removal companies, driveway repairers, credit card companies and the like.  In 2005 there were over 686,000 complaints of fraud made in the United States against US companies.

In representing my clients in consumer complaints, I prosecute these cases pursuant to the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act.  This is a state statute, which provides business operators and consumers with guidelines regarding the rules and regulations for legal business practices. It is a powerful tool and can provide a successful consumer with treble damages – three times the amount of damages that the victim can prove at trial.  This Act may also grant the successful consumer with an award of attorney fees.  I have spent many years working hard to develop a reputation as a tough advocate for my clients in the field consumer fraud.
